Research area

Neuropeptides studied for stress, sleep and cognition.

Neuropeptide research covers compounds such as Semax, a synthetic ACTH(4–10) analogue, and Selank, a tuftsin analogue, both developed in Russia and studied for effects on BDNF expression, anxiety-like behaviour and cognition in animal models. DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) has been examined in sleep and neuroendocrine research since the 1970s.

Western regulatory registration is absent for most of these compounds, and the published evidence is often limited to small or regional studies. Each monograph links to the primary literature so researchers can judge the evidence for themselves.
