Calculator
- Concentration
- 5 mg/mL
- Same as
- 5 µg/µL
- Volume for target
- 50 µL
Formula: concentration = mass ÷ volume; required volume = target mass ÷ concentration. Example: 10 mg in 2 mL = 5 mg/mL, so 250 µg = 50 µL. For laboratory calculations only.
How it works
Lyophilized peptides are supplied as a dry powder. Adding a known volume of diluent, typically bacteriostatic water, gives a solution of known concentration: concentration (mg/mL) = peptide mass (mg) ÷ diluent volume (mL). Because 1 mg/mL equals 1 µg/µL, the volume needed for a target mass in micrograms is simply the target divided by the concentration.
